Born in Marion Junction, Alabama, Roy started his acting career after a successful modeling period which led to television commercials. He has worked for twenty years doing theater, shooting print ads, appearing in commercials and film.    Roy is a graduate of Specs Howard School of Broadcast arts, where he studied television, film and journalism. Roy also spent years working in the information technology industry as well as the automotive industry as a sales executive for Navistar International and General Motors Corporation.  During this period, he presented a series of talks on corporate ethics and image to senior high school students in the Detroit Public School system. Roy is a proud member of the SAG-AFTRA.
